Adventure game created by Yuji Horii and released by Enix in 1985.
An investigation adventure in which the player, acting as an unnamed Japanese detective, is called to solve the murder of a bank executive by searching for clues, exploring different areas, interacting with characters, and solving item-based puzzles. The game, especially its Famicom version, was received positively in Japan, where it was an influential title that defined the visual novel genre, as well as inspiring future designers such as Hideo Kojima and paving the way for creator Yuji Horii to go on to make Dragon Quest series of role-playing games.

In Danganronpa, players dive into a series of class trials and expose the lies and contradictions of their classmates to find out who's behind each grisly murder. In each trial, players must use the evidence and testimony collected during their investigation to shoot down their opponent's assertions literally.
The follow up to Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. The main character, Hajime Hinata, a new 'Ultimate' student at Hope's Peak Academy. On their first day, Hajime and all of his classmates are taken on a field trip to the mysterious Jabberwock island by their anthropomorphic rabbit teacher, Usami. Usami explains that on this island the students are to have fun together and become friends to gather Hope Fragments. Usami's field trip does not go as planned when Monokuma appears and begins a new Killing Game. Anyone that wants to leave the island must commit a murder and get away with it. If the murderer is successful, he/she is allowed to leave the island, while everyone else is killed. When a murder occurs, the player investigates. After the investigations, a trial commences to determine who the culprit is.

Omensight is an action role-playing game framed as an action murder mystery. The player takes the role of the Harbinger, a warrior who appears only in times of great crisis, and uses a power that allows her to relive a single fateful day over and over. Combat is fast and built around a light attack, a heavy attack, a dodge, and a jump, with additional special abilities and the aid of a companion character. The mystery is unravelled by replaying events and joining forces with different allies rather than by sifting through evidence directly. It is set in the same world as Stories: The Path of Destinies, of which it is the successor.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, released in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban 4, is the fourth video game in the Ace Attorney series. Apollo Justice is the first game in the series that does not feature Phoenix Wright as the main protagonist, though it is not the first time a different attorney has been playable. The game is set in the year 2026, which is seven years after Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations. Phoenix Wright has been stripped of his attorney's badge, and Apollo Justice, an up-and-coming attorney, becomes his apprentice.
