Each level parodies a certain aspect of television culture (here the levels exist as stand-alone channels). Gex enters each level through a television set. He must collect remote controls to advance to the next level in order to complete his mission and rescue Xtra.

On childrens TV in the early 90s, Edd the Duck and Wilson the arm were the familiar puppets helping with the link sections. Like most child-oriented licenses of the day, his first computer outing was a platform game, scrolling vertically and resembling Rainbow Islands, although much simplified.

Forgotten Warrior is an action game which came pre-installed on certain models of Samsung mobile phones. The game is played on static screens with platforms, enemies, hazards, etc. In the beginning the boy has no weapons, so he must avoid all enemies or attack them stealthy with a punch. Later on he acquires a weapon and magical spells. Along the way the boy can collect coins which allow him to buy spells and potions.
