Dick Tracy for Game Boy is a sequel to the NES game of the same name. It features a new case for Tracy, when Big Boy breaks out of prison and plots his revenge.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an open-world third-person action-adventure game set in a version of Manhattan. Players control Spider-Man, web-swinging and wall-crawling across the city while completing story missions and optional street-level activities such as stopping crimes and rescuing civilians. Combat uses a free-flowing style with counterattacks and gadgets, and a Web-Rush mechanic lets players plan movement and strikes. A Hero and Menace reputation system rewards responding to crimes and penalizes ignoring them, which affects how the city and its enforcers treat Spider-Man. It is based on the continuity of the 2012 game rather than the films.

X-Men: Gamesmaster's Legacy is an action game released in 1995 on the Game Gear. The game starts off with Cyclops and Storm as playable X-Men, although Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Bishop, Jean Grey, and Cable can be later unlocked. It is loosely based on the "Upstarts" and "X-Cutioner's Song" storylines that took place in the comics. It is the sequel to the original X-Men Game Gear game.

The Goonies II features two modes of play: platform and first-person. Most of the game is played as the former as the player works through a non-linear map. In The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man has to rescue his girlfriend Mary Jane who was been kidnapped by the supervillain Mysterio. The whole game takes place in a film set studio. This game is primarily a platforming game in which Spider-Man fights against various enemies. Those can be stunned by Spider-Man's iconic web substance, but touching them or other hazards in the game world will decrease his health. Another important part of the gameplay is puzzles, mostly with the goal to deactivate some of Mysterio's gimmicks to clear the path. Spider-Man can climb walls and shoot grappling hooks.

Batman: Arkham Knight is an action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios, released in 2015. It is the final installment in the Arkham series. Players control Batman as he faces Scarecrow, who unites Gotham's criminals to destroy the Dark Knight. The mysterious Arkham Knight, a new adversary, aids Scarecrow in his plan. The game features open-world exploration, stealth, combat, and puzzle-solving. A key addition is the Batmobile, used for traversal and combat. The story explores Batman’s psychological struggles and the collapse of his alliances as Gotham spirals into chaos.
