Buggos 2 is a horde-based auto-battler where players command a sentient hivemind to evolve and deploy massive swarms of alien insects against human forces. The game features permanent upgrades, specialized unit types, and strategic control of the battlefield to overwhelm increasingly advanced enemies.

Buggos: Death Squad is a first-person co-op wave defense shooter for 1 to 4 players. The squad drops onto a planet overrun by the Buggos, an alien insect swarm, builds a base of turrets, walls, generators and shields, and holds out against waves of hundreds of Buggos until it has gathered enough research to escape. Players can also assault Buggo nests and fortifications to reduce wave pressure. The swarm evolves as the run goes on, adding new species, upgrades and boss Buggos that counter the players' defenses. Weapons, armor and buildings all have module sockets that add effects such as split shots, chain hits and explosions on kill. Before each drop, players choose a loadout on their ship and unlock new weapons, armor and modules through meta progression. In Versus mode, one player commands the swarm against 1 to 3 human players.
